Shant is one of a handful of U.S. executives to successfully manage the transformation of a franchise company from early stage to market leader. He gained diverse experience early in his career working with major companies for Grant Thornton, an international leader in advisory, auditing and other financial services. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and is a Certified Public Accountant.
An expert in franchising law and an accomplished executive, Tracy protects the Mathnasium brand and promotes the development of the Mathnasium team. A member of the California bar, she came to Mathnasium after working at a highly respected Los Angeles law firm.
After careers as a heat transfer engineer for IBM, strategy consultant for Oliver Wyman, and retail banking executive for BOK Financial, Vane originally joined the Mathnasium family as a franchisee, operating 7 successful learning centers. Vane holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton. He is now responsible for engineering the evolution of the world’s best education method.
Bob Kaufman is the SVP of North American Franchise Operations at Mathnasium Learning Centers. Prior to joining Mathnasium, Kaufman was the VP of franchise development and operations at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Prior to that Kaufman was the SVP of franchise development and operations at Tower Records. Kaufman has also previously owned and operated a chain of restaurants in Southern California.
John is a distinguished education professional with an extensive leadership history in corporate, administrative, and classroom settings. He holds an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University and an M.S. in Mathematics/Mathematics Education from Nicholls State University. After chairing a high school mathematics department and helping guide the school to significant gains in school performance, standardized testing and dual enrollment growth, he joined the Mathnasium family in January 2012 as a center director, later becoming manager of Education Systems and senior director of Education at the home office. As AVP of Education and Training, he now oversees the education of more than 100,000 students and training programs for over 1,000 learning centers worldwide.
Jason Condello, Vice President of Technology, comes to Mathnasium with 20+ years of experience in technology as both a software engineer (developing and implementing strategies for web, client/server, and mobile) and as a strategic leader. Over the years, he honed his skills and expertise working at companies such as Prudential Financial, Network Global Logistics, and Automated Systems. He holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology from the University of Nebraska – Omaha, and an MBA, with a concentration in finance, from California State University – Dominguez Hills.
Howard joined Mathnasium in June 2021. After having first had a successful career as a corporate executive at companies such as IBM Global Services and Northrop Grumman, he discovered a passion for business ownership and charted his own path to becoming a seasoned entrepreneur. Now, with over two decades of experience with both existing and emerging domestic and international brands, Howard has a very unique perspective on franchise development where he can navigate candidates through the nuances of business ownership. He believes, when you become an entrepreneur and chart your own destiny, you can’t help but smile!
Terrence joined Mathnasium in April 2012 when he was named Controller. Prior to joining Mathnasium, he was an auditor at Grant Thornton, LLP in Los Angeles, CA from 2004 until 2012. Terrence graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Laura joined Mathnasium in September 2014 as an Administrator Coordinator, supporting operations for 13 Mathnasium Company Owned Centers. In 2018, Laura moved to the Franchise Development team as an Franchise Development Coordinator. She manages “Discovery Day”, a face-to-face meeting where potential franchisees learn more about the Mathnasium opportunity by interacting with key staff at our LA head office.
An education professional for over 35 years, Larry has devoted his entire career to finding a better way to teach and learn math. As the originator of the Mathnasium Method™—the most comprehensive and innovative math curriculum ever produced—he inspires thousands of Mathnasium franchisees and instructors. Dan joined Mathnasium in 2004 with prior experience at education-related businesses such as 3M Company and Scantron Corporation. He says, “Nothing is more rewarding than helping candidates realize their goals through ownership of a Mathnasium Learning Center Franchise.” A Los Angeles native and graduate from UCLA, Dan and his wife currently live in Los Angeles and enjoy music, movies, cooking, hiking and traveling the world.
With over 10 years of franchising experience Brenda has worked to build brands such as Smashburger, Camp Bow Wow, SwimRight Academy and many more. A former Kansan and avid Jayhawk fan, Brenda has called Colorado home for over 12 years. Brenda and her dog Arlo love to enjoy all things Colorado has to offer.

Possessing over a decade of experience in franchise development in the education franchise industry, Marcus has helped build and strengthen key brands. Prior to joining Mathnasium, he was the Director of Franchise Development at JEI Learning Centers. Prior to that Marcus was Franchise Business Development Manager at Kumon. New York City has been his home for almost three decades and he enjoys reading, cooking, and biking in his spare time. He is an avid fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants, Brooklyn Nets, and Arsenal FC.

Conor brings an enthusiastic approach to franchise development as he thrives on helping others achieve their entrepreneurial and personal goals. A native Californian with stopovers in South Carolina and Colorado, Conor enjoys skiing, surfing, backpacking, and fly fishing. As a student that (admittedly) struggled with Math, Conor is a believer in the mission of Mathnasium and is excited about bringing its proven system to communities across the country.
Dan brings decades of franchising experience to the leading of Mathnasium’s franchise development team and the overseeing of its domestic growth, having helped brands such as Ryder Systems, Aero Colours, Lawn Doctor, Growing Room Child Development Centers, Regis Corporation, and Orangetheory Fitness for over 37 years.
Julian joined Mathnasium in 2017 with 20-years of marketing experience, including roles at American Express, Disney, Activision, and Warner Bros. He also led marketing strategy for brands at Mattel, Microsoft, and Amazon in his roles at L.A.-based ad agencies. Julian holds an MBA from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon.
