Mathnasium opened its first Romanian center in Bucharest in 2025. Since then, every new opening has exceeded expectations.

  • Mathnasium Aviației achieved one of the strongest launches in the international network, welcoming more than 100 students in its first six months. Today, the center has over 200 active students.
  • Mathnasium Militari opened in February 2026 and welcomed more than 120 students in its first eight months.
  • Mathnasium Cluj-Napoca, our first center outside Bucharest, opened in September 2026. It achieved one of the strongest launches among Mathnasium centers opened worldwide that same month.

Every child begins with an initial assessment, followed by a personalized learning plan. The focus is on understanding mathematics, not memorizing procedures.

In Romania, the Mathnasium Method is aligned with the national curriculum for Grades 1–8 and includes preparation for the National Evaluation exam. Centers also offer the British curriculum, taught in English.

As a Mathnasium franchise partner, you’ll receive access to the Mathnasium Method and curriculum, initial and ongoing training, assistance with site selection, center setup and launch, and the network’s systems and tools for assessment, scheduling and progress tracking.

Our Bucharest-based team supports you at every stage. You’re also welcome to visit our operating centers to see how the business works in practice.

Opening a Mathnasium center in Romania requires a total investment of €80,000–€120,000, depending on the city and premises.

This includes the franchise fee, center fit-out, launch marketing and operating costs for the first few months.

Financing Options

The minimum required personal investment is €40,000.

Mathnasium does not provide direct financing, but we’ll help you understand the available options for funding the remaining investment, including government-backed loans for new businesses.

We’ll discuss these options in detail during our initial meetings.

2Experience & Skills

Your professional experience matters more than the industry you’ve worked in.

Experience in managing a team, working with customers or leading a project from start to finish is valuable.

Advanced mathematical knowledge isn’t required, as you’ll receive comprehensive training.

You will, however, need a working knowledge of English, since Mathnasium’s training programs and network platforms are provided in English.

3Financial Requirements

The total investment ranges from €80,000 to €120,000, with a minimum personal contribution of €40,000.

Step 2 – Introductory Call

We’ll arrange a 30-minute online conversation with a member of the Mathnasium team.

It’s an opportunity to get to know each other, answer your questions and explore whether we’re a good fit.

Step 3 – Visit a Mathnasium Center

Spend an hour at an operating Mathnasium center during regular student sessions.

You’ll see the Mathnasium Method in action and learn from the Center Director what a typical day looks like.

Step 4 – Business Discussion & Territory

We’ll review the financial model, operating costs and financing options together and propose a potential territory.

You’ll also have the opportunity to speak with an existing Mathnasium franchise partner.

Step 5 – Discovery Day

You’ll present your business plan, meet the team and work with us toward a final decision.

You’ll receive the pre-contractual disclosure document containing the relevant legal and financial information.

Step 6 – Agreement & Launch

After signing the franchise agreement, we’ll begin training, finding the right location and preparing your center for opening.

We’ll support you throughout the launch process and beyond.
