Owning and operating a Mathnasium centre might be more accessible than you think. While costs can vary depending on the city and location, the total investment to open a centre starts at approximately EUR 80,000. Of this amount, a personal contribution of at least EUR 40,000 is required, with the remaining balance potentially financed through our partner banks.

After opening, ongoing costs include a monthly royalty fee of 15% of revenue, a fixed technology fee, and a minimum monthly budget allocated to both local and national marketing efforts.

At Mathnasium, we carefully select the partners who join our network. We’re looking for individuals who are committed to education, share our values, and are ready to invest their time, resources, and energy—either personally or through a dedicated team—to build a successful centre.

The eligibility criteria for joining our network of franchisees include:

1Professional History & Skills

Mathnasium welcomes franchisees from a wide range of professional backgrounds — from teachers and engineers to entrepreneurs and corporate executives. An advanced background in mathematics is not required, as we provide full training, ongoing support, and all the resources needed to successfully operate your centre. However, a solid professional experience, strong English reading skills (as the network’s documentation is primarily in English), and a completed university degree are essential to demonstrate your ability to manage a business and understand the educational impact of the Mathnasium model.

2Financial Qualifications

Our community is made up of individuals who not only want to make a positive impact in education but are also ready to invest in their own success. We believe true commitment starts with a willingness to contribute financially and take full responsibility for running a business. That’s why we require each partner to have a meaningful personal financial contribution as part of the initial investment. While we collaborate with banking partners who can support the financing process, we place strong value on each franchisee’s direct involvement — including a minimum personal contribution of EUR 40,000.

Step 1: Submission of the Interest Form and Completion of the Partner Profile

To explore the Mathnasium franchising opportunity, please complete the initial form on our website. You will then receive an email with a brochure containing additional franchise information and a link to a partner profile form we kindly ask you to fill out. The purpose of this partner profile is to give us a comprehensive view of your professional background, personal motivation, and the resources available to you for launching and operating a Mathnasium centre.

Step 2: Interview Process & Financial Assessment

We will schedule a meeting—either at the centre or online—with a member of the Mathnasium Romania team. During this conversation, we’ll get to know each other, address your initial questions, and assess whether Mathnasium is the right fit for you. If we determine that you meet the financial criteria and have the appropriate profile, we will proceed with the next steps toward partnership.

Step 3: Get to Know Mathnasium as a Franchisee & Grand Opening

Once we’ve determined the financial qualifications and that you are a good fit for Mathnasium, you’ll engage with our franchisees and review our Franchise Disclosure Document.

After completing your due diligence, you’ll join us at our Head Office for an in-person discovery day. Upon final approval and signing the franchise agreement, you’ll begin training and site selection with our full support, leading up to your Grand Opening and beyond.
